Obituary

Theodore Winfield "Win" Kindel, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 7, 2024, after a yearlong battle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, irreverent wit, and wisdom.

Win was born on October 15, 1949 in Denver, Colorado to William ("Bill") and Jane Kindel. He attended East High School, the University of Colorado in Boulder, and Regis University. He has worked as a teacher, repairing geophysical equipment, and in many other interesting jobs prior to joining Lectra Products in Arvada in 1994, where he worked as a Quality Assurance manager. He loved his job and his colleagues and enjoyed living in the same home in Westminster for over forty years.

Starting at a very early age, Win possessed an extraordinary gift for resurrecting vintage electronics, breathing new life into radios, television, and anything with a circuit board or vacuum tube. There was scarcely a gadget or appliance that Win couldn't repair, earning him the nickname "Mr. Wonderful" amongst family.

Win's greatest love was his family, whom he cherished above all else. He is survived by his adoring daughter Mary, his devoted sons Scott and Jonathan, and his beloved son-in-law Nick. To them, he was not just a father, but a beacon of love, wisdom, humor, and unwavering support. In addition to this, Win leaves behind his dear brother Bill, his beloved sister Bonnie, and his cherished grandchildren William, Clara, Jack, and Charlie. He took great delight in their company, imparting his love of life and his spirit to each of them, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julie Kindel, in 2005, and his second wife, Virginia Kindel, in 2018.

Beyond his technical prowess, quiet wisdom, and irreverent wit, Win will be remembered for his quiet and caring nature. He possessed a stoic kindness and was always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word for those in need. This kindness will continue reverberating out in ways no one will know and is carried on in the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we say goodbye to Win, let us celebrate the life of a remarkable man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. Though he may have left this world, his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the laughter and love he shared with his family and friends.

May he rest in peace.
