Obituary

Wilhemine Lowe Kollmar passed away on September 26, 2024, at the Allison Care Center, Lakewood, CO. Wilhelmine was born in Nebraska on October 13, 1940, to Cecilia Holling Lowe and Robert Lowe. She was married to Thomas McCutcheon, Melvin Kollmar, David Childs, and Kenneth Turner. Daughter Carrie was born of the union with Mel Kollmar in 1970. Wilhelmine is also survived by her two grandsons, Jesse and Joseph Caraballo. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mercedes (Decie) Buckingham. She was known by family as "Mimi", and is remembered fondly by her nieces and nephew, Sally, Paige, and John Buckingham.

Wilhelmine graduated from Missouri Valley College with a degree in English and Early Childhood Education. She taught kindergarten through 2nd grades and tutored older students in English, Literature, and volunteered in the area of fundamentals such as phonics education. She was a lifelong proponent for animal welfare, and often rescued animals in dire circumstances.  She was an accomplished and beautiful belly dancer as well as an artist, having created several lovely still-life oil paintings and sketches. Wilhelmine was passionate about music and instilled this love of all things musical in her daughter. Many remember delicious meals crafted with Wilhelmine's incredible cooking skills.

A private service will be held at the Morrison Cemetery.
