Will M.
Hunnicutt
March 5, 1993 – January 19, 2026
William Marcus Hunnicutt, known to most as Will, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 32, following a tragic snowboarding accident at Keystone Resort. He was riding the Go Devil run—on a mountain he knew well and rode often --—when severe conditions led to a devastating accident. Will, a skilled snowboarder since childhood, always put safety first and showed great respect toward everyone on the mountain. He was doing what he loved, alongside close friends—just as he always lived.
Will was the youngest child of William Lee Hunnicutt and Jody Lemley Hunnicutt. He is survived by his mother, Jody, and his sister, Hannah. He was preceded in death by his father, his cousin Tiffany Hunnicutt, and his grandparents. Will is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as a wide circle of friends who were chosen family in every sense of the word. To those who knew him best, Will's heart was as big as his presence—protective, generous, and deeply loyal.
Will grew up in Denver, Colorado, and from an early age it was clear that he was both athletic and creatively gifted. Anything he tried—especially sports and music—he excelled at naturally. He was an accomplished diver, and spent his life both skiing and snowboarding, developing a rare level of confidence and skill in the mountains. Music was another constant in his life. He played the piano, sang with the Colorado Children's Chorale for six years, participated in musical theater productions, and became an impressive guitarist. Will was endlessly creative, curious, and capable. He also possessed an intuitive intelligence and resilience that made him feel at home in nature—whether navigating the backcountry or building a fire from nothing. His work reflected his passion for helping others, serving in management roles in medical marijuana dispensaries.
More than anything, Will loved his people. He valued experiences, connection, and adventure. He was a devoted fan of Colorado sports, especially the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Avalanche, and treasured watching games with his dad. After his father's passing, Will stepped into a new role with quiet strength, becoming a steady and unwavering source of support for his family.
In addition to his mother and sister, Will is survived by sisters Ralynne, Patience, Skylynne, and Makayla,
Will's story is one of courage, kindness, resilience and an unshakable love for life—and that is how he will always be remembered.
