William "Bill" Meredith was born September 8, 1933, in Brownsville, TX to Warner Harvey Meredith and Agnes Belle Gard. He passed away on March 9, 2024, at Sandalwood Long Term Care, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Bill was raised in Brownsville TX and graduated from University of Texas, Austin with a degree in Business. After serving in the military, Bill moved to Denver in 1960. Following a brief stint in the insurance business, he began his library career at Denver Public Library in 1967. Encouraged by his peers, Bill acquired his degree in Library Science from University of Denver, then earned a position in Philosophy, Psychology and Religion, moving on to become Head of Business. After serving  at the Cherry Creek Branch, he became DPL's Neighborhood Services Manager. While at DPL, Bill mentored staff, and encouraged co-workers to continue on in their academic achievements. He retired in 1990 after 23 years of service.

Bill began volunteering at KUVO in 1995 when he helped the Denver jazz radio station move into the Five Points Media Center. Until 2015, Bill was a daily volunteer for the membership department, keeping meticulous donor records and responding to customer service requests. He also had a special contribution to KUVO Christmas parties, a drink both delicious and dangerous which he named "Panther Sweat".
