It is with great sadness that the family of James "Jimmy" Stephen Tarantino announces his passing after a series of complications resulting from a devastating fall on ice at his home in Longmont, Colorado, on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Jim celebrated his 70
th
birthday October 24, 2017. All his family members surrounded him at the time of his passing. Jimmy will be lovingly remembered by his soul mate and love of his life of 29 years, Cheri Gee and his children, Tony (Meranda), Stephen, and stepdaughters Cherise Gee, and Rachelle (Brian) Tiernan. Jim will also be lovingly missed by his five grandchildren; Elizabeth Ann "Bethanny" (Tim) Tarantino-Kelly, Vincentio Tarantino, Jordan Robinson, Alexis Robinson, and Jayden Tiernan. Jim will be missed and remembered by his three great grandchildren Anthony Capps, Daymian Robinson-Hilt and Kaelyn Robinson-Hilt who all called him Papa. Predeceasing Jimmy were his parents Marion F. and Rose (Bagnoli) Tarantino.
James S. Tarantino was born October 24, 1947 a Colorado native growing up in North Denver, Colorado. He attended Mt. Carmel School until his senior year. He was a class of 1965 graduate from Ranum High School in Denver. He worked as an Engineer with the Aurora Fire Department. After that He worked with his son Tony in the mechanical and refrigeration industry. He loved animals of any kind and loved telling the stories of his life. Above all Jimmy loved being surrounded by his family and preparing his "famous" pasta and meatballs. No holiday was complete without his pasta. He was a very committed and supportive man who attended all of his family's sports activities. Jim also enjoyed many activities of his own including water skiing, camping, restoring his uncles 1965 Chevy truck and a 1930 Model A. He was the proud owner of several trophies for his two pride and joys. He loved riding motorcycles and being active in many community organizations. He also enjoyed many days flying his remote controlled airplanes with his buddies, "The Black Sheep Squad" with L.E.A.F. at Union Reservoir in Longmont. He was always present at all major family accomplishment's including school graduations, weddings and school programs. He was our Godfather! He loved being the center of his family and being surrounded by them.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Jim. He had a special place in his heart for children and their families affected by cancer.
