Obituary

William (Bill) Card was born on October 11,1934 in Glendale CA to Wanda Walker & James Card.  He was lovingly raised by his mother, Grandmother (LaHoma Walker) & Aunt (Dorothy Walker). As a teen he & his mother moved to Denver CO. He took an interest in harmonicas and learned to play quite proficiently. He and his childhood best friend John Stevens played with others throughout the years for family, friends & at social events.

Bill joined the Navy during the Korean conflict & was an Aerial Photographer aboard the aircraft carrier Princeton. Growing up during WWII he developed a keen interest in airplanes which continued all through his life. While working as a Breadman after the Navy, he met the love of his life Marilyn Knop, a nurse. They married on January 7, 1961. They started their family in 1963 with 2 children.

In 1960 Bill joined the Denver Police Department & worked his way up to the rank of Captain. During his 30 years of service, he worked patrol, radio room commander, data & records & even helped with the Police band Squad Four. After retiring he & Marilyn traveled extensively in their RV with their dogs, visited several countries and took a few cruises. They were avid square dancers & danced at an advance level for over 40 years.

Bill loved being with family & friends, telling stories and jokes, he never knew a stranger. He was loved so very much by his family. Everyone he met enjoyed his company as he did theirs.

He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, daughter Kristi Card (Myles Keating), son Brett Card (Jeffrey Parish), grandsons; Sean Keating (Christy), Mike Keating (Kim), great grandchildren; Julia & Alec Keating, brother Ed Keith, niece Tiffany Harris (Travis Harris & their children Meghan, Mason & Reagan) as well as many cousins.
